Half day Whitewater Experience (10 am/1:30 pm, $69, $59 group/yth) is suitable for first-timers and families; choose Kananaskis or Elbow River with grade 2-3 rapids, or Bow River/Horseshoe Canyon with ledges and grade 2-4 rapids ($79, $69 group/yth). Full Day Whitewater Rafting with lunch and souvenir photo CD combines the Kananaskis and Bow River/Horseshoe Canyon (10 am, $129, $119 group/yth), or raft the Red Deer River (9:30 am, $119, $104 group/yth). Saddle & Paddle (9:30 am, $145) includes horseback ride, BBQ steak lunch and Kananaskis rafting. Mile 5 Run (2 hrs, 9 am and 3 pm, $64, -13 $32) and Heritage Run (3 hrs, 11:30 am, $89, -13 $44.50) on class 2 Athabasca Canadian Heritage River has calm stretches and small lively rapids aboard 8 to 10 passenger paddle rafts. Rearguard Run on the class 3 Fraser has Mt Robson views and large, powerful rapids (5 hrs, 9:30 am, 1:30 pm, $99). Athabasca float and 2-day trips. Remote 3-day class 4 Kakwa trip. Banff Rafting Centre
Half day paddle rafting adventures depart Nakoda Lodge, 1 hr east of Banff townsite—optional Banff and Canmore shuttle $10. Bow River Horseshoe Canyon includes grade 4 whitewater and cliff jumping option (9 am; $76). Whitewater Rafting
Canada's original whitewater company (est 1971) offers trips aboard 2 to 8-person paddle rafts. Parks licensed guides, wet suits, booties, life-jackets and rain gear provided.
